Punctuality Challenge – Day 9 & 10

In_a_RushToday my focus from 28 Days to Timeliness was about seeing how long it really takes me to get ready for the day. I have had it in my mind that I can get ready in 30-45 minutes. I am keeping a log for the next several weeks listing the time from start to finish that it takes me to get out the door to go somewhere. If it were just me in the house, with no interruptions, I could probably make it in 30- 45 minutes, but when you figure in potty training my 2 year old,  the telephone, text messages, etc. I never finish in that amount of time. So far my average has been over 60 minutes. WOW! That is a big underestimation. Who would have known. As I continue to evaluate this log I am keeping, I can more accurately predict the amount of time I need to set aside to get myself ready. Now all I will have to do is set a time I want to leave and subtract the amount of time it takes to get ready. This will be my start time. I am starting to see a little bit of light at the end of this tunnel now.

How are you doing with the challenge so far?

I’m so glad this tip worked for you! Just a few weeks ago, I somehow thought that I could shower, bathe my kids, put on makeup, pack a to-go breakfast, and be out the door… in 20 minutes. Of COURSE I was late (hence, the “semi” part of “semi-reformed” in my book title :) )
