- We have been reading about the Fruits of the Spirit the last two days in our house. My oldest can spout them off quicker than I can even read them, but do we really know anything about putting them into practice? I thought we would discuss the some of the fruits over the next few days. I am not going to cover them in order.
- Today I thought we would focus on peace. Do you like conflict. I try to avoid it at all costs. I have always been the peacemaking type. Whether you like to confront or avoid conflict, everyone appreciates times of peace. When we look to the author of peace, we can even have peace in the midst of storms. God’s word says in Romans 5:1, “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
When our days get hectic, when we feel the stress and strain of life, we need to give our hearts in worship to the Lord and claim His peace over our lives and the lives of our children.
My Prayer Today
Lord, I lift up my heart in prayer to You today. I ask for the peace you give that passes all understanding. I ask for peace in my heart, peace in my home, peace in relationships. Help me to search my heart and remove the “deeds of the flesh” that are enemies to your peace. Help me plant the fruits of the Spirit in my life today. I ask that my children would recognize that peace comes from You and feel the peace of God in our home. Help me to cultivate good fruit and teach my children more about the Giver of all peace.
My inspiration for this series loosely comes from a prayer card published by Navpress and is available for purchase at this link. This would be a great bookmark for your Bible. I am in no way affiliated with NavPress. I also want to mention my friend Marcy at Ben and Me whom I am joining with for this challenge. She has some great resources available on her site as she is praying for her child’s head, shoulders, knees and toes.
