30 Days of Praying for Our Kids – Love

Now these three remain, faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.

Love is one of the foundations of the family. We need to get this right. We need to love passionately and praise more than scold. I keep reminding myself that these little ones are not with us forever and we only have a short time to hold and love them. They will be wiggling out of our laps and moving off into the world to make their mark on society. Let’s remind each other of the importance of teaching and demonstrating love.

My Prayer Today

Dear God, You are the perfect example of love. Thank you for your love gift of Your Son Jesus, whom You sent to the cross or our sins. We could never match that perfect love, but help us to strive to love like You do. Help us teach our children by example to love the unlovely, love when it hurts and love when it is not easy. I pray for my three children tonight that you would give them hearts of love for others, love for each other and love for my husband and I. We thank you for entrusting them to us. In Your precious Name,

My inspiration for this series loosely comes from a prayer card published by Navpress and is available for purchase at this link. This would be a great bookmark for your Bible. I am in no way affiliated with NavPress. I also want to mention my friend Marcy at Ben and Me whom I am joining with for this challenge. She has some great resources available on her site as she is praying for her child’s head, shoulders, knees and toes.
