30 Days of Praying for Our Kids – Love for the Scripture

Prayingforourkids

Today our prayer is in relation to cultivating a love in our kids for Scripture. We know that this is a work of the Holy Spirit, but we can have some influence on our kids by showing them a good example in this area. I will never forget the impact that my parent’s have had in my life by consistently modeling the importance of God’s Word. I would wake up every morning knowing that I would find one or both of my parents in a chair reading God’s Word. This has been an inspiration to my my whole life.

It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the wordof this law and these decrees” – Deuteronomy 17:19

My Prayer Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help me to teach my kids the importance of God’s Word. Help me to revere it, to show it respect, to live it out and to model it for my kids. I ask for your grace in this endeavor and I ask you to give my family a hunger for God’s Word.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

My inspiration for this series loosely comes from a prayer card published by Navpress and is available for purchase at this link. This would be a great bookmark for your Bible. I am in no way affiliated with NavPress. I also want to mention my friend Marcy at Ben and Me whom I am joining with for this challenge. She has some great resources available on her site as she is praying for her child’s head, shoulders, knees and toes.
