30 Days of Praying for Our Kids – Mercy

Mercy – This one is a hard one for me. As a mother and a nurse, I naturally am merciful to those who are in need and hurting. It is part of my personality. But if I think someone is being a baby (usually my family) or whining over something minor, I don’t have a lot of mercy. I think they should traverse through the issue and get over it. I am so glad that the Lord is not like this. He is infinitely merciful and compassionate with us. His mercy is new every morning.

 Psalm 25:6

Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

My Prayer Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your mercy and faithfulness are constants in my life. Help me to freely give these to my children as you do to your children. I pray that you will develop mercy in their lives. Help me nurture this quality. Give me wisdom as I parent these blessings. I lift each one of my children before You this morning. Help me nurture the good fruit I see in their lives. Thank you for your goodness to me and my family.

In Jesus Name,

My inspiration for this series loosely comes from a prayer card published by Navpress and is available for purchase at this link. This would be a great bookmark for your Bible. I am in no way affiliated with NavPress. I also want to mention my friend Marcy at Ben and Me whom I am joining with for this challenge. She has some great resources available on her site as she is praying for her child’s head, shoulders, knees and toes.
